We have all experienced anxiety/ panic attacks during our life time at one stage or the other. Anxiety attacks are also known as panic attacks. Anxiety or panic attacks are episodes of severe panic or fear. These attacks usually occur abruptly and with no warning. At times there can be the presence of some obvious triggering factor. These attacks are generally at their peak within ten minutes and hardly last for more than half an hour. But during that period the attacks are so severe that the person may experience lost of self control.

One needs to be aware regarding the anxiety panic attack symptom so that they find ways to overcome the anxiety or panic attacks and it can help them tackle the problem. The symptoms of anxiety or panic attacks differ from person to person as the cause too differs from person to person. The anxiety or panic attacks must be taken care off at the earliest else they shall start producing disturbances in the life of the sufferer. They start affecting the quality of life of the sufferer. The anxiety panic attack symptoms are caused because of the confused bodily sensations and nerve impulses. These symptoms are nothing but the exaggerated experience of the normal bodily sensations and reactions. These symptoms themselves are dangerous and harmful. Panic attacks mimic heart attacks.

1.  Constant or severe fear or worry or panicky in situations where people otherwise would not feel threatened.

2.  Panic or anxiety attacks generally start suddenly and may last for several minutes.

3.  Fast pounding heart beat or palpitations.

5.  Stomach disturbance.

6.  Shortness of breathing.

7.  Chocking sensation.

8.  Hyperventilation.

9.  Nausea.

10.  Dizziness.

11.  Disturbed hearing.

12.  Distorted vision.

13.  Headache.

14.  Tingling and numbness in hands.

15.  Trembling or shaking.

16.  Increased muscle tension.

17.  Aching muscles.

18.  General fatigue.

19.  Chills or hot flushes.

20.  Dry mouth.

21.  Insomnia.

22.  Nightmares.

23.  Hallucinations.

24.  Fear of losing self control.

25.  Fear of dying.

26.  Feeling detached.

Apart from the above mentioned symptoms, some of the anxiety panic attack symptom s experienced by children is as follows:

1.  Falling of grades in the class.

2.  May avoid school

3.  May fall prey to substance abuse.

4.  Depression.

5.  Suicidal thoughts, plans, and/or attempts.

The bad effect of these panic or anxiety attack symptoms is that after the attack has subsided the body feels tired and shaky. Panic or anxiety attacks are frightening as they often lead to several other complications like phobias, depression, substance abuse, medical complications or suicide. The effects of panic or anxiety attack can vary from mild to severe. They can even lead to complete inability to face the outside world.

One needs to recognize these anxiety panic attack symptom at the earliest before the condition takes its toll on the body and the life of the person!
