The other therapy to cure panic attacks is Interoceptive exposure therapy where the symptoms of a panic attack are purposely triggered so that the therapist can illustrate to the patient that there shall be no harm to the patient. Occasionally this therapy can prove to be quite risky but it is also proved to be an effective mode in naturally treating panic disorder.

Relaxation techniques which include deep breathing exercises, tai chi, yoga and other stretching exercises should be incorporated to cure panic attacks as these activities shall help to eradicate stress from your life which may be the cause of the panic and anxiety attacks.

Substances which contain stimulants, such as caffeine and sugar should be avoided. Stimulants can make you feel more nervous and irritable and can even trigger a panic or anxiety attack.

B-complex vitamins and herbal supplements too help in the cure of panic attacks naturally. B-complex vitamins can have a calming or balancing effect on the patient suffering from panic disorders while herbal supplements and teas which include valerian root, evening primrose oil, chamomile and flaxseed oil can also be helpful.

In case one experiences difficulty in breathing or may have palpitations or may vomit or feel suffocating then one can stop the panic attacks by controlling their breathing or by altering the breathing patterns. To “cure panic attacks”, one can take long and deep breaths, inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Every single muscle of the body of the patient must be progressively tensed and relaxed.

The patient should avoid been stressed about certain situations and learn how to control their anger. Self control can help one in controlling panic attacks as panic attacks are psychological in nature and are not produced because of any chemical imbalance. Hence, the patient can prevent or reverse the occurrence of any anxiety attack.

Do any of you develop panic attacks during pregnancy? If so, how can you stop?

I can not control my hormones this pregnancy. They are out of service big time. The smallest discomfort can send me into a huge panic attack that I can hardly breathe. Today I could swear which caused a few contractions. I'm a little over 18 weeks along. I never experienced this with my pregnancies my three children. I plan on bringing it to my midwife appointment next week, but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else has gone or is going through the same thing.

Yes, I have them now that I'm pregnant and that are annoying and scary! I know exactly how you feel … Although this is my first pregnancy … All I can suggest to you is what I do – I just sit, drink some water, try to breathe calmly through and rub my belly.
